Community Veterinary Partners is excited to announce the addition of our most recent hospital, Rocky Point Animal Hospital in Rocky Point, NY! The four-doctor practice joins CVP as the 43rd hospital overall, and the fourth in the state of New York.
Dr. Richard Caputo, one of two owners of Rocky Point Animal Hospital, earned his doctor of veterinary medicine from Cornell University in 1991. He is well known in the community for his friendly, gregarious nature and his ability to make people feel special. Dr. Caputo is highly respected among his peers in the Long Island veterinary community and the public at large. He has a special interest in animal behavior, particularly working with owners to help them raise well behaved, emotionally balanced puppies as yhe i
Dr. Chris Cangeleri, co-owner of Rocky Point Animal Hospital, earned his doctor of veterinary medicine degree from Cornell College of Veterinary Medicine in 1999. He was inspired to become a veterinarian after spending time as a wildlife rehabilitation. He has worked closely with local wildlife organizations, providing medical, surgical, and diagnostic support, as well as participation in fundraising efforts on behalf of those organizations.
Rocky Point Animal Hospital has been serving its clients with the highest level of medical care in their current location – prioritizing the comfort and well-being of all pets — since the late 1970s. In 2003, Drs. Cangeleri and Caputo purchased the practice with the goal of bringing a more progressive approach to medicine, while retaining the personal, compassion-driven level of service their clients had grown to expect.
Rocky Point Animal Hospital places a strong emphasis on preventive care and early detection of disease at every stage of a pet’s life. Employing modern digital radiography, ultrasound, dental radiology and comprehensive laboratory services, along with their long-standing relationships with local veterinary specialty centers, and a vast network of national resources, RPAH is able to provide the most advanced diagnostic capabilities.
The clinic also provides in a wide array of surgical options (taking the approach that no surgery is ever “routine”), as well as complete pain management before, during, and after surgery. In addition RPAH takes a modern, proactive approach to dental care, comprehensive, lifestyle-based vaccination protocols, and medical management of chronic diseases like diabetes, special needs and senior care. An on-site boarding facility is available for client pets with special medical needs.
“The thing that really stands out about Dr. Cangeleri and his team, and the reason why Rocky Point Animal Hospital is such an outstanding addition to the CVP family, is the level of compassion that they have for the pets that they serve,” says Lou Weihrauch, Vice President of Operation as Community Veterinary Partners. “It’s not just about serving the role of a doctor, but they are also an advocate for these animals, making them feel as if they are part of a larger family. They are on the cutting edge of advanced medical care, but they never lose that personal touch that their clients have always loved. We are so excited to have them as one of our own at CVP.”
