CVP – LMU Leadership Award Application

Community Veterinary Partners is honored to partner with Lincoln Memorial University College of Veterinary Medicine in celebration of the leadership qualities of our future veterinarians. This award will recognize LMU-CVM students who have demonstrated they will be our veterinary leaders of tomorrow.

Criteria for Selection

Only LMU-CVM third- and fourth-year students are eligible to apply for the CVP – LMU Leadership Award during the current application period. Students must be in good standing and must intend to pursue a career in small animal practice upon graduation. The ideal candidate will be committed to supporting the CVP mission of bringing joy to families by providing the best care possible to the pets they love. Through clinical work and letters of reference, eligible candidates will be able to demonstrate they have exceptional communication skills with clients and colleagues, exemplary professionalism and an interest in further developing their leadership skills.

In addition to the application form below, candidates should be prepared to provide:

  • Cover letter including a statement of professional strengths, desired career path and why they believe they should be selected to receive a CVP – LMU Leadership Award
  • Current resume
  • Three letters of recommendation. Letters of recommendation must include a minimum of one from a clinical instructor and a minimum of one from a veterinarian.

Award Recipients

All applications will be reviewed by a selection committee of mentoring veterinarians from the CVP community of hospitals and Dr. Laura Strong, CVP University Relations Director. There will be two CVP – LMU Leadership Awards granted to 4th-year students and two CVP – LMU Leadership Awards granted to 3rd-year students. In addition to being recognized as CVP – LMU Leadership Award recipients, each student selected will receive $25,000 in tuition assistance from Community Veterinary Partners and complete two years of employment at a mutually agreed upon CVP location.
