August 12, 2020 – Community Veterinary Partners (CVP) is pleased to welcome North Davidson Veterinary Hospital in Lexington, North Carolina to its growing family of animal hospitals. Since the day Dr. Jim Schmunk and his wife, Tonda, opened the doors of North Davidson Veterinary Hospital, they’ve been committed to treating their community of pets, and staff, like family. With the recent sale of their practice to CVP, their family grew tremendously as they are now part of a community of veterinary professionals collectively focused on providing the best care possible to the pets in their care.
“I thought very carefully about selling my practice and ultimately chose CVP because our views on growing a practice by taking care of our people, patients and clients are very much aligned,” commented Dr. Jim Schmunk, owner of North Davidson Veterinary Hospital. “Seeing that other hospitals in the CVP family are able to continue to provide care to their communities as they have always done made me feel confident the CVP team would care as much as I do about my team and our clients and patients.”
A six-doctor, walk-in practice, North Davidson Veterinary Hospital joins the growing number of hospitals in the CVP community from the state of North Carolina, joining other general practices, as well as several animal ophthalmology specialty hospitals in the state. Dr. Schmunk and his veterinary colleagues at North Davidson Veterinary Hospital are known for providing excellent surgical services, from soft tissue to orthopedics, and general, urgent and emergency care and boarding services to the Lexington and surrounding communities.
“Dr. Schmunk wanted to preserve his legacy and trust so when he laid his head down at night, his hospital and community of pets were in good hands,” noted Tracey Winfree, Business Development Director at CVP, as she welcomed Dr. Schmunk and his team to the CVP family. “He has truly made it his life’s mission to serve his community and the pets who reside there. There isn’t a person Dr. Schmunk would turn away if his or her pet were in need. Continuing his legacy of serving the Lexington community in this same spirit alongside Dr. Schmunk is what CVP is all about.”
Joining the CVP community is not the end of a story, rather the beginning of a new chapter. Despite a global pandemic, CVP continues to build new relationships to help many more hospitals continue their legacies. Veterinary hospitals that are aligned with the mission of providing the best care possible to pets, like North Davidson Veterinary Hospital, are welcome additions to CVP’s growing family.
